What should eggs look like?

I have had 3 eggs laid. One was definately bad, I piched it. The other started soft and collapsed but firmed up. It gets a little moldy, I clean it. But its still soft to the touch, firm, and yellowish. Its not rigid like photos look like on the net. The other is not as yellow but hasnt firmed up after 3 days in the incubator. Should I give up. What does a fertile egg exactly look like, feel like?????
