They are much thicker than the Boaphile racks. I have seen those in person and I was dissapointed in how flimsy they are. They seem cheap. These that I just got are quite thick and very sturdy. Heavier than the others too I am sure but I would have no problem using sand in them, or keeping heavier animals such as ball pythons in them. I love my Matrix racks too but it is such an ordeal when I have to move them! Anyone want to buy some Matrix racks, LOL
