You have asked a legal question that does not really have anything to do with snakes. You need to read you lease VERY carefully. it should outline exactly what the pet policy is and types of animals you can keep. You need to ask clarification from the management company to find out exactly what the pet policy is if you cannot find what you need to know in the lease. Ignorance is not a justifiable defense. If other people have owned snakes, it could be up to the manager or the owner to determine what type of snakes can be kept. You also need to check your state laws for eviction. If the law allows for it, you can be evicted for any lease violation. They can also fine you for each day you are in violation as the law permits. The last thing you want is a daily fine that will add up fast and if not paid, will end up on your credit report. Hope this helps.
