As I drive around this afternoon I saw many forests that where beautiful when I was a child... today they are engolfed with japanese honeysuckle anywhere that light shines through and the understory is largely replaced with bush honeysuckles pushing out everything except a few old musclewood and some pawpaws.
The fact is that invaders are always a threat and some restrictions do make sense. I for one used to avidly protest any laws restricting herptiles because the laws where not reasonable, I do no think we need a law to protect us from a savanah monitor anymore than we need a law outlawing goats or horses -- both of which are far more dangerous animals. However the animals do need protection from us humans who will release non native herptiles and spread disease and replacement of our native reptiles and amphibians in the wild so keep this in mind when analyzing laws.
Thank You For allowing my rant most of which everyone already knows anyways :)
