:The HSUS has it for $10.00. I may be able (Sunday or Monday ) to outline their reasons for the ban. Much of the info comes from reptile rescue people and much is in our control to get prevent by education and tougher standards on pet stores.

Some of the reasons are:
wrong equipment sold by pet stores
people listen to pet store rather than vet
we import before we know how to take care of some species
more children under 12 are sole keeper of reptiles and this is higher than any other kind of pet.
Salmonella
