lola got it pretty much spot on there, but I would certainly suggest that while the snake is still small you get yourself bit rather than wait for it to catch you by suprise. It won't hurt, I promise! It's also the best way for you to get over this minor phobia.

I've been bitten by corn snakes, king snakes, baby amazon tree boas, ackie monitors, rosy boas, boa constrictors, and may other things (not to mention stabbed, stung, vinegared, and bitten by my fair share of bugs!). The only ones that even drew blood were a rosy boa (I was astonished it got blood since I didn't realize it bit me until I noticed that there was something tugging at my arm) and my boa constrictor.

One of my amazons got me good, but there was no blood, just little red dots on my arm.
