Try putting a second hide box with a higher humidity level. You can just use a tupperware container with a hole cut in the top or side and fill it halfway with damp sphagnum moss. Sone snakes just like to hang out in damp places...some just like to hang out in the water bowl. It doesn't necessarily have any real meaning. It is probably actually beneficial to him to have a higher humidity option available...especially if he ever has trouble shedding.


:Well, i've looked. I've read, and there is all kinds of information about heating, housing, and bedding. But nothing about humidity. I have a young desert king snake, and he is constantly sleeping in his watter dish. This made me wonder if the house, and his tank is too dry. Anyone know what a "prefered" humidity level for these snakes is???
