I had an Elaphe which laid 5-6 sterile eggs and had one left in the body.
Day after day the egg moved caudally and after, so, 7 days the snake decided to lay the last egg.
I think most snakes will eventually lay all their eggs naturally.
Shelled eggs do not reabsorbe in the oviduct.
