Have you ever used anything like this during your research/tracking ventures? (see link below)
It would be interesting to be able to study easterns inside gopher tortoise burrows. Maybe, even record indigo egg laying / hatching in the wild.
It seems like it would be a useful tool for checking burrows to possibly relocate indigos that were in habitat that was being destroyed during land clearing.
I was wondering if there have been any studies done to determine whether indigos can survive underground in gopher burrows during controlled burns of the habitat. I suspect that the burrows are deep enough to protect them from the smoke and heat but it still had me wondering. Controlled burns are done on a regular basis in FL due to the thick underbrush and brush fire conditions.
