I remember having similar problems with Salvador (last ig) His spikes got soooo long and tapered that the tips would almost always break off when he shed them-- just a small part. But it's not like he wasn't ready to shed either. I think maybe they are just so fragile at the tip it is very hard for the shed to come off without damaging them. I think Sleestack has had the tips break off on his longest spines too, but it's not even noticeable because they are extremely long-- and curve over to touch his back again. (photos taken at certain angles look like he doesn't have any front spines because they curve over to one side so much!) They do stand up when he gets riled up though!!!!
