Hey, folks!:) sorry for the mix up, let me fix it, my ig, (shemp) is doing much better, he hasnt eaten cat food or chicken since my last post on his improvement, i dont know what his deal was, but he SEEMS to be over it,(knock on wood, its the light i think, will exp. later) as for his attitude, i found another hand-written asassination plot with my name on it in his cage, lol, my sister, who lives next door,(we are in waco, iguanamamma, so send, send, send the herp vet info;) she also has an ig,(named bogart, we thought she was a male, and the name stuck)she has had her for 4 yrs, and she is 5yrs old, she lives in a home built cage 4ft wide, 5 ft long, and 5ft deep, as for lighting, well this is very embarrassing, but i only recently found, on this forum actually, that for most of her life, and almost all of shemps, we were not providing them w/ the right stuff, (in waco, you can get an ig, almost anywhere, but ig info, shees! you have to look for it, and ive read soooo many books, each contradicting the last) sounds like im making excuses, but the fact is, these igs, have been denied proper care because of our stupidity, we all thought that a "full spectrum" light is all they needed, but when someone, i forgot who, kayo, i think, said they Never heard of a "uvb" light providing heat, full spectrum does, so i was like "what" i looked on the package, and sure enough, full spec. has "uva" not "uvb" the thing is, neither of them ever say anything about the other, the package of the full spec. says "mimics all of the essential rays of the sun, benefiting your reptile in many ways" go figure, before y'all say it,i know, this could very well be and im almost sure it is, what was wrong with Shemp,(maybe bogart too) shemp has improved vastly since i got the right lighting, my sister and her hubby are having a little $ trouble (who isnt?) so they havent gotten the light yet, but even if the light WAS the problem, i would bet my stooges collection that it was just what CAUSED the prob, now we have to fix it, w/ more than just a light, but getting the right one is on the top of the list, sorry, we texans tend to ramble on, i hope this gives more info, i did yours, now you do mine,(lol) Shemp p.s. the knot is the size of a marble, very hard and very round, she is about... 4ft long? and has always eaten healthy foods,(no cat food for her)
