Yes, I meant Hatfield's book. I know the warning that phytates/oxalic acid is suspected to
bind to calcium.
Kevin Egan has another new theory that its not a problem. I dont know if someone
has checked his sources and if his wrong or not yet.
Phytates in beans was new to me. I did not know that.
I used to add very little calcium (not taking into account that calcium lactat*, that
it only has 17% pure calcium) for a year or so but continued with a quite lot of
kidney beans (and smaller amounts of garbanzo). No problem observed.
* yes, calcium carbonat is recommened. I will swap.
