iguana with bum leg

I have a 6 month old iguana who recently got out of his cage. Upon returning him to his cage, I noticed that he was not using one of his back legs. That back leg has continued to irritate him, he refuses to use it. When he walks, he drags it behind him. And now, it is swelling. It is about 1 and 1/2 times the size of his other leg. I don't really have the money for a vet so any suggestions would be appreciative. When it comes to Bull, my iguana, I will find the money to get him to the vet if I need to. Thank you in advance.
