I don't think those who have posted here ARE the problem so, therefore, this message isn't reaching the ears that need to hear it!

This is true. We can take this same discussion and apply it to humans. In a perfect world, no child would be neglected or abused. We do not live in such a world....and all suffer for it.
More of us need to make our voices heard at the stores. Things ARE changing in some places. There are some pet stores that I know of personally who sell reptiles that are captive bred hatchings of THEIR own breeding pairs (dragons, snakes, etc.). This is a good thing. I think Gina is correct regarding iguanas...it's the importation that's causing problems.
It's nice to see that this entire discussion has remained calm, cool and collected. There are other forums where name-calling would have commenced almost immediately LOL
