This is a sad fact of life...isn't it? It's hard to find an answer...but I think if we could all do our part to make
iguana care common knowledge, then maybe at least some of the igs out there would have a better chance in life.
And I also bet, knowing most of you here, you are probably already doing that! I don't think pionting fingers at breeders will help anything, tho,
and the things they have learned through their experience with the species they specialize in can help those of us out there who want to make sure their pets do have a good life.
Basicly, there will be irresponsible people out there, no matter what we do. It's the human condition!!
I've breed dogs before, and Guinea pigs, and really and truely, when we sold one of our babies, a little piece of our heart went with the animal...and lots of prayer that they would have the best life possible,
and I'm sure iguana breeders must care, too. It takes alot of care just to get them hatched out!!
Anyway...there are my thoughts...As for me...I am also a niad volunteer, and I'm sticking my little iguana info & care sheet where ever there is space on an open bulletin board...whether it's at the vet, at Wal-Mart...
Everywhere I go. Maybe it will make someone think twice! I hope so!
Peace!
Lorry
