Howdy All,
We just got back from the show and for the three hour drive......we now have a concrete iguana statue for the front porch. Needless to say, the show itself was not worth the drive. We thought a few of the seminars would be informational on iguana care. LOL....were we wrong! First one, was a Vet talking about general health topics. When we were sitting down he came up and introduced himself to us and asked what kind of reptile we had. Of course we said two rescued iguanas. Then we told him that we're members of a rescue group in Richmond. We talked for a few more minutes with the Vet about NIAD (we were wearing our t-shirts) as people were coming into the seminar room. Then the Vet started with his talk to the "whole" 6 people.....plenty of extra seats. A woman who was sitting across from us was holding a BD and asked the Vet a question about the diet of a BD for MBD. What did the Vet do but turn to Sue and I for a answer to the question. LOL..Like we know, isn't HE the Vet?
Then came round 2 of the seminars, International Iguana Society. Basically it was a slide show of their vacation in Balize. Probably three slides had iguanas in them, the rest was sunsets, huts, jaguars, etc... And again, we were disappointed. BUT......I did get a chance to experience a funnel cake for the first time...hey...is that worth 3 hour drive one way? LOL
Guess what.....we won't be going to next years show.
