I'm sure I'm going to get some amount of flack for this but .....When it comes to UV, any potential damage comes from extreme periods of withholding it. The short amount of time you have described, coupled with the fact that Double D gets it on a regular basis should bring no harm to her. When our igs go to the vet they are without it for several hours and are fine. When we had the electrical work done on the house they were without it for several hours a day and we have noticed no major consequence.

As for color changing, we have notice that the igs seem to do it on whim more than anything else. As we watch our juveniles grow we notice it more frequently woth shedding -is this true of all igs? We have no way of knowing.
