Howdy,

You can get a ceramic heater for both day and night, that's what we use, other then keeping the iguana room at 90 degrees daytime and 75 night time. You need to find a reflector spotlight housing, the socket, where the ceramic heater screws in, should be ceramic too. Don't use the plastic types. Now, there is sizes to ceramic heater, measured by wattage; depending on how large of an area you have, you purchase the wattage best for it. We have a 150 watt for a 7'x4'x2 1/2', Lola ( 6 years) has gone over to it in the middle of the night a few times, most of the time she likes sleeping at the other end of the shelf. But it's only because she's fat! LOL and with that fat, she holds warmth in all night long. Now Harry, he sleeps under his every night age:1 1/2 years but he also has a smaller heater..I believe it's 100 watts for a 4'x3'x2' cage. remember if you don't heat the room to at least 75 degrees you may want to step up one size. Also don't mount this heater so your iguana can get to it. If he/she is a cage climber, there's a chance your ig may be able to get to it. Harry's is outside of the cage (climber) Lola inside...she doesn't climb LOL or is that lazy. IMPORTANT NOTE: Always measure the temperature of the area under this ceramic heater, don't let it get over 95 degrees at the closest spot, where your iguana can lay.
Feel free to email me anytime for any information you need, hate posting such long messages, it's just not like me, right gang? LOL
Harry's Dad
PS Please title emails iguana iguana or they may get deleted if I don't know who it's from.
