When we rescued Harry a couple months ago, he was so cold (kept in an unheated closet). Day 2 at our house he "thawed out" and would actually throw himself against the sides on the enclosure (wire) and then he would nose rub until he bled. Jeff (a.k.a. Harry's Dad) talked to a couple of people from our local herp society and was told to cover up his cage with a (bed) sheet. After a few days with sheets draped over the enclosure, he settled down. He is and probably always will be a "nose rubber". We went out and bought him a new enclosure that really is a large ferret cage (4 feet tall). The wire is too far apart so he can't really rub his little nose raw. I'd suggest you try covering his enclosure and leave him alone for a few days (of course, feed, water and clean cage, etc.). Give him time. He'll come around. Good luck!
