Kayo...****sigh**** all but a few of Feo's front claws are now history!(my paybacks for caging him 2-3 months ago!) He is a clawless and nuttless poor baby. Vet says if any claw is to return it will be a nub of a matrix...Doc said "just as well" They will reinjure them and open up the bleeding again and again! I use a little plastic cup and dip his bleeding nails in cornstarch to stop the bleeding ****sigh**** Being clawless hasn't stopped him from climbing my neighbors lemon & orange trees tho! Anyway...not to worry. You'll prolly find the nail casing stuck in something or on the ground..but tuff to find the matrix (might of eaten the evidence!) I don't know..not to worry ..its just a cosmetic thing..but sure makes climbing a little more difficult for em. Watch for infection...once stops bleeding put some betadine then polysporin/neosporin/tri-antibiotic..Its been over two months and Feo's STILL open up and bleed a little.no sign of a matrix yet let alone a nail casing!. During Mel's shedding pay particular attention to the scales around his toes at that time..make sure to get any shed off!
Hope this helped!
