The installation went better than I anticapated, only two to three false starts. Amazing how instructions never match exactly what happens, LOL. Anyway, I have a question. Our external modem used comm1, IRQ4. When the plug 'n' play (oximoran) installed in Windows 95 it assigned it to comm3, IRQ5. I wouldn't care except that now upon boot up the bios detect a resource allocation error. We thought there might have been an IRQ conflict and manually set it for comm1, IRQ4 like the old modem. Then it didn't work at all. Switched it back to plug and play and it works with comm3, IRQ5 but still getting allocation error, but it works. We have checked out the other devices through Windows95 and windows say there is no conflict. Any suggestions???? Everything seems to work, but I'm a person that doesn't like loose ends and it just plain bothers me.
You can e-mail if you want, instead of using this board for "puter" talk.
Thanks, Joan (just another day of confusion)
