Good ideas there Ob..glad ya made it to check out those heat panels aren't they cool?...thought I gave you the wrong link...yeah they make em a helluva lot bigger for larger enclosures...I know of someone at the Boa Forum that uses them and he's constanstly recommending them...Im shooting for next fall to get them(have che's going 24/7 outside enclosure)until this summer. Yeah that ceramic heating set up sounds about right..make sure the shelf(assuming igs will be sittin on it!)is wide & high enough so as not to injure ig, get too hot, but also be able to spread that heat around! Posted on another forum about che's and dimmers/switches. I was told by this Rep shop absolutely not. Now Im finding out that che's & dimmer switches etc. are okay..given switch is able to handle the outtage. anyway...may want to go that route also give you more control. Im not sure what your needs are here whether inside or out...how much heat you need to generate etc.but all these variations sound reasonable...and I don't think operation wise it would be much especially since you'll have the controls to adjust accordingly (dimmers spring/summer higher temps etc) Wish I had another link for you...I'll let ya know how those heat panels are when I get them. Might even get em sooner than this fall cauz Im looking for another enclosure this time for my female (oh you can strategically place them whereever you want along the three walls)
Well good luck, you might try posting at rec.pets.herp the link is on the Iguana Forum homepage. There's alot of old-time herpers there who can shed some light on the subject..
Good luck
Gina
