Thank you all for your quick responses. For last night, I hung sheets and paper towels on the inside of the glass. Now he is probably traumatized for the last minute changes (he slept by his food dish last night on the floor, rather than in his usual perch) but at least he won't be hurt. This probably answers our question as to why he has been sleeping sitting up with his nose in the corner of the glass "on" his hammock instead of laying down "in" his hammock since he got his new home. But three sides of the lizard lounge are dark tinted glass, and I can see I am going to have to do something besides use paper towel. Any ideas will be muchly appreciated. Would spraying the outside with a spackle paint of some sort just make it worse? And then Max wouldn't be able to see out and around like he likes to. By the way, Max is about 24" (7-8" svl) and he was my Christmas present. I am guessing he is approx 5-6 mo old. Thanks again for your help.
