Hi,

Sorry to hear your mother is under the weather. Wish her a speedy recovery.
Now as far as trip, I would say that the heating pad would be enough if you are going to keep the car at around 80 degrees. If it's sunny out during the day drive, she'll get the warmth of the sun too. At night I'd cover the carrier with a blanket.
Another thing is I would get her use to being in the carrier if she isn't. A long drive in a carrier that she's not use to, would be a big deal to her. If she's got a pillow that is hers, I'd definitely bring that along for her. Lola loves her pillow.
Also, if it does get warm in the car during the day, she may lay on the top of the front seats with you. If she can see you it might help to calm her.
As always, iguana's don't like change much....so this will be alittle stressful for her; so when she gets to where you are going, I'd put her in a quiet room and let her calm down some. Maybe put a blanket over part of the cage so she feels like she's got some protection.
