Hi iZ Mom,

I'm not sure if they would grow in a flower pot since they have a main root stem that grows deep in regular soil. Those at the store might be a different kind of Dandi. then what grows in our yards. Oh..we do let the ones in the back yard grow but in the front yard....NEVER!! That's my pride and joy. I'm wondering about the store dandi., if growers use fertizer on them....and what that would do to a iguana down the road......and with that thought....same goes with humans. Dang chemicals!!! I guess no one is safe from it. Mom, I would suggest trying to find some dandi's out in the wild that are large and already have the flower turned white...collect the white flower head carefully and plant the seeds in the flower pot. I'd think planting them just under the surface would do. Or the other method would be to try and get ALL the root if possible....some dandi's have grows that can grow to 3' to 4' deep. It would be almost impossible to get it all and since I haven't done any trans-planting of dandi's ( LOL god forbid I ever start) Im not sure if they would continue to grow after being moved. Seedlings take off like wild fire....I'd just try them.
Good Luck and have a Great day in the flower bed
pet the snakes for me too
