in the iguana scheme of things, 2 weeks is nothing ... *grin* ... they tend to not like *any kind of change* and so it will take your baby a while to adjust to you and trust that you are not going to *eat* him!

try to do the same things at the same time every day ... lights on/off, food, handling him, etc. ... he will learn what to expect and when and then his new world won't be quite so scary ...

and like the others said, patience! it *will* take time! move slow, talk softly , be *very* careful that you don't accidently sneak up on him! start talking when you get near the door to the room his enclosure is in or you'll starle him out of his daydreaming and by off to a bad start before you start ... *grin*

one thing i've found is that it helps alot if you *don't* loom over them ... don't suddenly appear with your giant hand ready to grab ... it helps if he is up higher than you are when he first sees you (so he's looking down on you from his 'safe place') ... pick him up from the underneath instead of grabbing him from above ... slide your palm under his back legs/tail base and then his front legs ... that way, he's not **suddenly** dangling in mid-air and it also feels less like he's *prey* ... [someone here put it as "igs don't like to 'fly'" ... actually, iZ *loves* to be suspended from my hands as far up as i can go ... it also calms him down (sometimes) to be *way up* ... go figure ... ]

it really does sound like you're off to a *good* start tho! so! tell us his name and stuff like that!!! we *love* hearing about people's iglets!!!

welcome to our forum! this is a *great* place to learn and share!!!
