Hi,
What's your iguana's name? I have two a female Lola and a male Harry. Lola is 6 years old and Harry is close to 2 years. When I adopted Harry is was alittle shy at first and would try to run. As suggested here, try feeding your iguana some leafy greens from your hand and talk to him/her. Iguana's don't like change in their environment very much and it will take him/her some time to adjust to his/her surroundings.
Do you have a book or two on iguana's or have you visited any websites that have information on how to care for a iguana? A great book is "Green Iguana...The ultimate Owner's Manual" by James W. Hatfield III, I would suggest trying to get a copy of it.
I'm sure your iggy will be coming around very shortly and you will have some great laughs with him/her.....trust me....there will be alot of fun times with your iguana, they do the strangest stuff!!
Good Luck
Harry's Dad
