Patience....that's the hardest part of taming an iguana!

Advice that I would give you for now would be to NOT try to grab hold of him. He has to get to know you and KNOW that you aren't out to eat him, etc. Try just putting your hand inside his tank and talk quietly and calmly to him. Doesn't matter what you say...tell him about your day, sing to him, etc. Just anything so that he gets used to your voice. Eventually you might try holding a piece of food for him to take from your hand...something big enough that he either bites a piece off or he won't miss and get your fingers when he goes for it. And when he does go for it, react quietly, calmly to it. (You can go around the corner and whoop it up later LOL) If he'll let you stand there and rub on him, fine continue to do that just don't panic him by trying to pick him up until he is ready.

I caution you that this may take a very long time. They are not like a cat or dog when it comes to accepting our presence much less our touch. Sounds like you are doing pretty good to me Ig 21. Just keep it up and remember: patience. It will be well worth it in the long run.
