Hi ,just read this post and had to add my two cents in.Not only igs,but monitors, and bds are also very suscpetable to fatty liver and kidney failure due to too much animal proteins. We mist our lizards even tho we have usually high humidity. There is debate about misting bds because they live in arid climates but we know they need water.I haven't heard of artifical lites causeing it but I'd almost bet,,there hasn't been much of a study on them. That seems to be the problem with owning lizards,,not enough research has been done until the last 10 years or so.People are just finding out they shouldn't feed iceberg lettuce to them or cat food.We just lost our bd Jabba to fatty liver and it was a very sad death, and vets aren't really sure if they feel pain.I'm positive they do feel pain.I have my babies at the vet once a year for blood panels. If nothing else it helps the vets in their research and it give them a base to go by for my kids.Sorry for the lecture, but I feel very strongly about my babies. We are lucky to be in a state where we can provide optium sunshine for them.
