I do know, personally, of two "green" iguanas that stay orange (with bits of green) year round. One belongs to a guy in geez I want to say Illinois...and it is his claim that his iguana is a mix of a green and some other kind of iguana. The other one is a pet store's "mascot" here in our town. He is so orange that his name is Cheetoe! I asked the owner why he stays orange and his response was that this is just the coloring of some iguanas.
Don't know that this info particularly helps you but it does show that being orange full time isn't overly rare. The only time that ours gets orange when not in season is when I sort of overdo the carrot in the salad for too many days.
