John,
After reading your 14/16/99 post,I also wanted to suggest that you look at some of the previous posts I have written on the care of my Spiny Tail....one big misconception about Ctenosaura is they they are primarily carnivourous, when in fact, too much protien in their diet will lead them to an early grave. They are systemically far too similiar to the Green Iguana for their bodies to process large quantaties of protien. My personal theorie on this is that the Spiny Tails are going through an evolutionary process in which the end result(many decades from now)will leave them in a class much closer to the Varinids than the Iguanidae....but again, this is theory.
Anyhows look up some of the info I mentioned that has been previously posted in here...this is one of the best sources for it on the web(though the competition is a bit scarce).Punch in my name in the "Archive search" box and see what comes up....I try to participate in as many of the Ctenosara discussions as I see,and it would be my guess that my name would be linked to many of the other individuals who have posted info in here as well....you might also try the search words "Ctenosaura"...and "Spiny Tails".

PS-If you can get your hands on it,REPTILES magazine released an issue (Aug.'97)with a Ctenosaura species breakdown, including some basic care/housing/etc.
