Gideon is most definiately of the genus Ctenosaura(spiny tails).I have an adult female Ctenosaura (pictured) which I believe is of the species Ctenosaura h. macolopha.Your Gideon is very similiar in appearance to my girl and I tend to believe that he is of the same species,based also on my opinion that they are the most common species in the pet trade today(though Spiny Tails are not all that common).Best wishes.
