I am with Samcin and Mom here...sounds like what you are seeing are the genitalia of a healthy male Iguana....the pressure can make the organ pop out sometimes. If you can handle the animal, you will probably find enlarged pores right near the vent area too. WHile it is hard to sex an Iguana when they are juvies, as they get older, signs like these usually tip ya off!

: Hi all. Need some help here. My juvenille iguana today, I noticed, looked like she was going to go poopie on her basking spot.. which I thought strange as she is bathtub trained. I noticed it was not poop but like her intestines or something (red in color)coming out a little, then going back in. Anyone know what this is? Normal? Serious? Please help!

: Her diet is lotsa greens (no spinich), alfalfa sprouts, soaked rabbit pellets, green beens, 10% fruit, and other like things I know are good for her. I studied the diet, environment, etc... quite a bit. She has a UV light, heating pad,basking spot, humidifier, etc... and full roam of a room. She is 26 " Snout to tail.
