I agree also...but I can't find one with the switch so I have to use the other. What I can find here that are the ceramic kind are usually called "brooder" lamps and are basically made for high wattage lamps on full time over eggs to hatch chickens..hence the name! What I don't like about these is the fact that in order to turn them off to switch from day bulb to night bulb one of us would have to UNPLUG the dang thing and that's not always an easy task depending on where cords are plugged.

To be truthful though, I've not checked at a pet supply place. Basic things like these are usually twice as much at a pet supply place down here. No Menard's here!
