Gina, you are right - melamine can/does warp with moisture. My husband is going to try silicone sealant to try to stop moisture from getting between the white stuff and the particle board it's stuck on. We'll see how that works.
What is a heating system from ProProducts? I have to use CHE's (they are $60-70 up here)as well as various arrays of lights and heating pads (under the cages). I would love to hear some alternatives - preferably cheaper!!!
