Oh my goodness! What a giant heart you have...this gal needs ALOT of help. Since you are taking her to the vet...you will get alot of help and advice there. Is your caging setup outside or inside? The way you can kill mite infested branches too large for the oven...is to suffocate em...cover with large plastic bags...leave em outside for 10-14 days I know it takes a long time but in the meantime yer also disinfecting her cage (bleach & water or Nolvasan) and getting her situated with HER troubles. I use diluted Nix (head lice treatment for kids!) to get rid of mites on my snakes when I first got one who was infested!...haven't had to use it on my iguanas,,,and yes around the face is a juicy meal for mites on an iguana because the way the scales sit...but check out under her arms..tracks along her belly and spikes! Also there's a product called Provent-a-mite by Pro products that has helped many a herper with these nasty critters. Ive heard of some people suffocating the mites with olive oil with good success too. As far as her MBD...please don't mistaken "fat" especially limbs for healthy often a sign of MBD. Also get her in the sun as long as you can or as close to a UVB light as you can get her (within 12 inches) 12hrs a day and up her calcium ..maybe can get that foot goin in the right direction! . Melissa Kaplan's site :

www.anapsid.org.

is a great place to start. For dietary, housing mite control everything!
Here's home mite control formula...you may just wanna give it a try...
Nix head lice solution (get it at a drug store)
spray bottle
cup
Qtips
mineral oil (optional)

In a spray bottle add Nix =1oz to 8oz warm water
mix , shake well (keep a little of solution in a small cup for treating the face)
Take Ig to tub..spray down with solution...(do not do get in her face!!) while its working...
get Qtip dip in solution and use around eyes and face..Please be extra careful around the eyes & nasal area with this stuff. Some people cover eyelids with mineral oil in case chemicals get in eye.
Repeat in three days then one week (just in case)
Gina
