Iguanamomma ...yeah phytic (phytate) acid in legumes (beans; inc green beans,peas) but not to worry added to salad is not doing much harm at all but this acid binds to calcium and PREVENTS its absorption, they still are nutritious and provide lots of nutrients & minerals. Ive read that if you provide legumes serve em separately vs with the salad where it binds to your primary calcium sources & renders them virtually useless Legumes shouldn't be used because of calcium content but because of the other goodies thay provide One of these days Im gonna figure this all out! Like calcium & magnesium..man what a screwed up couple! but without one another the other is useless kinda like my marraige.,...lol
I swear the more I read about calcium ..the more confused I get! Looks like maybe we gotta be rocket scientists afterall! lmao.....nitey Igmomma!
