if your ig is getting a a well-balanced diet, you really don't need vitamin supplements at all ... and really, we know VERY little about iguana's exact nutritional needs so to just routinely give vitamins is questionable at best ...
if you ARE going to give vitamins, IMHO, go with something that has been formulated for human consumption ~ like Centrum ~ there's a MUCH better chance that it will actually contain what it claims to ... personally, i have close to zero trust in pet stores + the supplies they sell for igs ...
consider finding a "children's" vitamin that contains no minerals ~ again, we don't know for sure "what + how much" igs need as far as minerals ...
do NOT use a kind with "extra vitamin C"! too much vitamin C can potentially cause probs such as bladder stones (been there with the bladder stones ~ ya don't wanna go there!)
give SMALL TEENSY AMOUNTS when giving human vitamins!!!! take the vast weight difference between the adult human the vitamins were made for, and the 5-10 pound ig you are giving them to ... i think they figure the "average human's weight" for doses of things like that at 150 pounds ... so if you have a 5# ig, you want to give 1/30th of a Centrum! see what i mean by TEENSY???? *grin* ... just a very small pinch of vitamin dust, sprinkled on their favorite fruit ... if you do it only every 2-3 days, or even just once a week, they're still getting extra vitamins and there's less of a chance of givin' 'em too much ...
ummmm ... i think that's it ...
