Sorry to hear about the accident.
Yes from what I have read at least 75% grow some of their tails back. The new section will not match the old, meaning scales will be off-set, color will not match the rest of your ig. I suggest reading the subject about shedding just a few postings down too. When your ig starts to shedd you will need to keep an eye on the tail during shedding. Ring Shed.....is possible now, but as you will read there are methods for helping sheds.
One other thing, a suggestion....... fasten ALL branches down. Plastic tie-wraps (used alot for holding electrical wires together) can be used if you make sure NOT to leave a large enough loop that your ig can get a finger or even a foot caught in it. I suggest using " U " shape nails...I'd hammer the nail into the wood leaving just enough to slide a tie-wrap through; then strap to side of cage or to another branch. Another method is to bolt branches together using long screws or bolts.
