one thing i've always liked about this particular board is that we can disagree with each other and still manage (for the most part) to stay civil ... i like the *lack* of name-calling that is so abundant on other boards ... i've always thought we just seem to 'play nicer' here than other places ... this is not to say that we don't disagree at times ... i just like that we tend to do it in a more mature way ... it makes me stop and make sure i really want to post my anger *before* i hit the submit button ... and because we *do* play nice here, when i slip and post something in anger, i end up coming back and apologizing ... (i learned to do *that* here too!)
there is *so* much about iguana care that is being debated ... (look at the 'diet war'!) if we take offense every time someone disagrees with us, we're done for! the way to learn is to listen and *think* about the other side/opinion ... sometimes, there *is* no wrong or right ... just different!
there are times when i think that a particular poster is just too stupid to live ... but that is just *my* opinion and me posting it is *not* going to change *any*thing! so i blow off steam in a private e-mail (you know who you are! *grin*) and if i can't think of anything constructive to post, i don't post ...
i feel *very* strongly about this board and keeping it going in a positive direction! i've been here almost 2 years (!) and i feel *very* possessive about this board!!!! it's my online ig-home and it's where i learned a major portion of how to take good care of iZ! (and it feels *very strange* that now it's *me* that can answer people's questions!!!) even in answering questions, i learn! and *that* is what this is about! i want this to be a positive place for everyone to come to because i have yet to find a board that even comes *close* to what *we* have built here! *i* don't have any other place to go and so this board is very important to me ........
we all do positive things for iguanas *in our own way* ... even just hanging out here sharing poop stories! it means we're here to answer a newbie's question ... or an 'oldster's' question! (help! iZ broke his tail! *now* what?!?!) for people who want to do more, there's NIAD! but we need to do things in a *positive* way or people aren't going to listen ...

and with *that* rambling semi-rant, i'm gonna go to bed!
