I have been looking for a good home for my 5 year old iguana for the past few months. My wife has begun to provide daycare in our home which severly limits "Gus's" free roaming time. We thought we could find him a place where he would get the attention that we can't provide anymore. After queries with friends didn't pan out we placed a classified ad and found what we think is a good home. He has been gone for a week and hasn't adjusted. He hasn't eaten and isn't very active--homesick, I guess. This particular iguana has been prone to getting upset like this with any major change in his life--moving his cage to a different room, etc. So I don't know if this is his normal reaction or more serious. Have any of you had to relocate your ig or received someone else's? I am wondering what your experiences were. Also, what kind of time should we give him before we go get him back? I assume a healthy individual can go for awhile without much food but what is the danger zone and how can the new owner help him adjust?
Hope you can help.
