I took Hercules out of his cage today. I noticed about a week ago some of spikes were turning brownish black on the tips. When I touched them they were hard. He recently started shedding too on his spikes. Today I pulled the shed off of the spikes and noticed that on like 10 spikes the tips are flimsy and black. They almost feel wet. The base of those spikes is normal. I was thinking that it could have been caused by the people handling him at the vet. Like they put towels over him and bent the spikes or something and they died. Has anyone had this happen and should I be concerned?
