Sorry for the typos HIGH-CANOPY ARBOREAL TROPHIC LEVEL UP NOT OF ETC.
If you go with a glass or poly set-up, make sure you provide some ventilation to reduce mildew and other problems.
Alot can depend on where you where you live. If your a Northerner, a more solid enclosed system may prove more beneficial. If live in the deep south, The open hardware cloth approach is definately the best course.
:I'm limited for time but i mention a few things.
:Go as big as you can afford moneywise and roomwise. Green's occupy the high-level Arborial Trophic level. As such, they are going to be spending most of the time in the upper part of their enclosure. Height is the greatest component to consider. However, don't end of with your enclosure looking like a phone booth. If you have a thick screened enclosed patio, you can do wonderful things with that.
:At the SFCRC, (SOUTHERN FLORIDA CORUCIA CENTER) We keep our monkey skinks and Green Iguanas (not together of course) in wooden framed enclosures with hardware cloth. Artifical vines and branches are utilized. There is plenty of room for variation. Some enclosures have a side door and a top door.
:I personally like to build my own, but I have seen nicely constructed ones. Sometimes, one can buy a green for $20 and end up spending hundreds on cage materials and other supplies.
:Best of luck,
:Brian

:ey all, I am new to this forum (not the site). I have owned an ig in the past, when I was younger and unfortunatly had to give it away b/c we had moved.
:: Anyway, their beauty and personalities have opened my wallet and I am now actively researching and planning for my future purchase, a green iguana, which will be a wonderful addition to my collection of herps.
:: To make a long question short, does anyone have any plans, ideas, hints, or websites that explain the steps in making a cage? Is 10' X 10' gonna be big enough? I plan on getting a juvenile, but boy do they grow huh.
:: I am doing all the research, planning and building before I get my ig on May 3rd. Im sure this has been asked before, but i promise, i can't find it anywhere and for some reason my browsers "find" doesnt work.
THANKS FOR ANY HELP, ELAPHE4HERPS
