Im happy your Hercules is back home and his snout is OK again.Im having the same problem with my 6/ 7 years old Godzilla.I keep him also in a huge (7F)bird's cage and he destroyed his nose and mouth against the coated wire but not as badly as Hercules. The injuries are not infected and are healing by themselves. Although people here said its not good to keep males iguanas during breeding season in a coated wire cage i cant move him or any other of my igs because where i live is so hot that any other cage will be like a sauna! The temp outdoors is already around 95F in the shadow!!

:I just picked up Hercules from the vet. His face looks so much better. They cleaned it up and put three surgical staples in it to pull the skin tight so it can heal. They also gave him hormones to calm him down. Wow what a huge difference. He is so calm!!!! Which is important because I really don't want him to hurt himself anymore.
:The bill was 300 dollar's but it was money well spent.
:Thanks everyone for your advice and I am considering getting rid of this cage and buying/building another one.
