Hi, Sarah,
My solution for temporary housing while saving up to build a nice enclosure has been an extra large, collapsible puppy crate. It's on top of a high desk, with a ramp leading out of it (Bud, my ig, is a limited free-roamer). Bud is only about 1.5 feet, and not very thick, so he can wiggle out between the bars if he wants. Zephyr would probably not be able to. Additionally, the bars are smooth and coated with a glossy back plastic layer. They don't hurt little ig noses.

The crate is, like the reptarium, open to the air on all sides but the bottom, which has a very convenient and sturdy plastic tray that slides in and out through a slot. On top of that I have bathmats for substrate. Easy for Bud to grip, easy to throw into the tub for cleaning/disinfecting. As I say, it is open on all sides, but I imagine the crate would be easier that the reptarium to close up with plexi or something else. It's very sturdy, and does fold down, although it's only about 4x4x3 feet. Okay for Bud, since he's small and gets quite a bit of out-of-cage exercise, but a bit small for Zephyr. But at least it might give you something that's secure, indestructible, impervious to heat lamps, and provides a basking spot/ locking up for safety spot.

Lights can easily be suspended from the ceiling bars.

The only problem I have had is that Bud used to climb out between the top bars, because he wanted to sit on top of the cage. So I have covered over the top. Now, in frustration, he will sometimes climb to the ceiling of the cage and hang there, or drop down from it, after finding he can no longer climb out. :)

The crate was about 90- 100 dollars.

Hope you have some luck with whatever you try.
-Erin
