I am just So tickled =D he is about 1 inch over 3 ft STL , hasnt found a way to weigh him....lol. (any suggestions, but he will get weighed at the vets anyway..)hes in the reptarium and my concern is that its too cold, he did take a looonngg warrm bath in the bathtub filled to the top with clean water...but hed sort of lean to one side and then the other side, is that normal? he also did his alligator swim thing...(squeals) my own personal dragon! we went to get him and left the 55g with UTH there, we might be getting the tank anyway (my mom said we should keep the 55g..for a bearded dragon , after we move. i love my mom). he also got nails clipped (i clipped one too short, poor babe) and my arms are very bloody and scratched. i put plastic bags under the reptarium, then towels over it, then put the reptarium down (i guess it will be a good idea to order a cage liner this week) over it, and then some towels in the reptarium. in each corner i put a (argh whats it called) one of those grey cemented stones with a big hole/gap in it?) and have been cutting/trimming/dicinfecting/setting up my neighbors trees into a rain forest all day..LOL. still too small to climb up, so hes hanging out on one of the stones. on friday my mom said we should go to the vet (good day, schools off) and im updating the log after i post this. he is SUCH a gentle boy (girl?) can anyone post a site or an explanation on how to tell the difference? i also havnt asked how old or his full story yet, but, yanno...i see his foster mom in school every day so its not a problem. and the whole lift-him-above-your-head-to-calm-him-down thing is really comming in useful. im just waiting for him to 'go' on me while hes above my head (eye roll)when we went to get him his foster moms sister was cleaning out his stuff, and so she dumped doog food into the trash (sigh, ) but right now he has some squash and salad (not lettuce salad) in there, plus a very large dog bowl to soak/drink in (still too small, he cant even fit in it, once the whole things are set up i guess a rubbermaid container would be a good soaking tub). im also concerned that the cage is too cold (which it is) it cant be more then 80 throughout the cage..i have the heat lamp on top, but as theres no basking level yet, its a good 5 feet down to Zephyr, plus the mesh sides.. =( within a week i hope its all set up to the best as it can be..
my dad also said, isnt it too cold and i said yeah =( its warming up and still pretty open. my mom pointed out that while 75* is good for us, its freezing for him, and my dad grinned and said i guess well have to move to a warmer climate (florida...thats where were looking to move. Zephyr will be in heaven)ok i think im just raving but i am SO pleased and happy.
oh and btw, his feet are messed up =( 2 toes are dead (vet need to amputate em?) i dont think hes ever had nail clippings and so ive been trimming, theyre growing in huge circles, he cant grip too well..plus all his toes are crooked or weak etc (im so sure he has mbd poor baby)
