Iguanas can be wonderful pets but they do have some problems you have to consider seriously before buying one.Think also that if you buy one, you ll have to take full responsability for it even if it becomes a 1.80 (6 F) monster and tries to destroy your face.Yes, this can perfectly happens during breeding season!I have had my 6/7 years old male for 4 years and his breeding seasons were quite peaceful. This year he became a monster, wild as a beast and another day when i opened his cages'upper door he jumped straight to my face to bite me!If my reflexes were not good i would have a destroyed face by now!Iguanas bites can do a lot of damage!
Im not saying that this will happen to your ig.Perhaps not. But it can happen!!So think seriously before buying one.I think it will be best if you adopt one because like that you will be able to have information about your future ig character and you can make a better decision.

: As someone who runs a reptile rescue in N.W. Washington I can only ask you to know what your getting into. To many people think their cool, then don't know what to do once they have a lizard capable of getting six feet long with a tail like a bull whip, sharp claws and strong bite. I think they're wonderful and intelligent reptiles. Just like everything else they all have their own attitudes. Some can be quite tame, some not. I don't mean to talk you out of it. Just want you prepared for iguanas sake. Good Luck. If your near me I currently have three rescue iguanas.
