I figured if anyone had anything to say about them you would Mr D. I thought it was too good to be true. I suppose there will be a lot of copycat bulbs out there. I will stick to my Powersuns. My Active UV is still "active", so I cannot complain and I have had it since October last year so far. ( I hope I am not jinxing myself lol) But I can grab one at the Reptile expo in Manchester April 19 or order one if need be. Have a great day!!! Lyn
:And it only confirms correspondence I had with them. Doesn't seem like they know their a** from third base when it comes to UVB. I had requested specific uW/cm2 readings from them regarding this bulb and got nothing more than a sales pitch. Needless to say that I haven't tested one of these bulbs because the money can be better spent at the moment.
:Maybe I do need to get my meter calibrated because on a nice sunny day at noon time in NH I get UVB readings in the 240-250 uW/cm2 range. I DO know that the PowerSun 160s kick out 50 +/- uW/cm2. Heck, it was a sunny, balmy 54* here yesterday and I got a reading of 76 uW/cm2 on my back porch.
:And after the extremely negative response I received from the "sales staff" I personally wouldn't use anything from them if they offered to give it to me. There's a lot to be said for "customer service" but I couldn't even tell them that because their 800 number was busy 24/7. At least it rings now when I just called it. As usual, you get what you pay for in most cases. These days I pretty much run PowerSuns until I get off my butt and send out the half dozen Actives that need to be exchanged. Just my personal experience. Counsel advises me to tell you to form your own educated opinion.... ;)
