Its great that you have wonderfully raised igs, but some of us have rescues that have been abused, neglected, and not nearly so well raised. I adore Tempest, but I can assure you he will never be outside off a leash of some sort, or in a solid enclosure. He will also never be loose unattended in my house. Any helpful information on leashes for those of us with more tempermental animals would be great.
: The placement of the cord and the spines is the same as it would be in a harness leash, but what can you do?
:Well, personally, I think the best enclosure is no enclosure at all, and the best leash is no leash at all. No matter how you try to restrain your ig, he may choke, or break off spikes. We have raised our ig to be VERY sociable, and have taken her last year to Daytona Beach, stayed at the Marriott full of college kids, with NO LEASH! When a flock of seagulls flew overhead, she just hunkered down close to my neck. She never tried to escape. She allows strangers to pet her, and never bites or tail whips. It's all in how they are raised.
