In Reply to: What kind of routine testing does everyone get their igs? posted by girlzilla on February 25, 2003 at 12:22:45:
to check all my reptiles and husbandry.I have so many reptiles its impossible to take all of them to the vet's office!LOL!
Concerning fecal exams, when my igs lived together, sharing the same cage, i used to take one poop and to take it to the vet.If it was contaminated with worms i 'll de-worm all the igs because as they lived together (and as it was difficult to find the responsible for the poop, lol)they should have the same worms too!
Id like to get bloodwork done too but I dont know any vet that makes blood test here in Kuala Lumpur.Until now my husbandry and my igs' healthy have been aproved by all the vets that came to my house!

:Well, it's been a tough week on the forum, and everyone has been emphasizing good preventive care, which I totally agree with. But...
:For example, Flavia, I think it was you, mentioned that you get a fecal done 2-4 times a year. Now are we talking about just the float... or the float, smear, giardia (spelling wrong, I know) and other tests?? The one that costs $35, or the one I did when I first got Bud that cost me around $250?? NOT that I'm saying I want to skimp on care, but... I'd like to be prepared. Maybe sell a kidney or two to finance it. :)
:Also, how often does everyone get bloodwork done, if at all, and how old was your ig when you were first able to draw blood? I would love to get this done for Bud, but two different vets have tried to draw blood from him, to no avail- He's still too small, I guess.
:Thanks for any answers!
